DIGITAL GAME PROJECTS

Circuitor

A 6-month long school game project lasting for 2 semesters. Made entirely from scratch from Unity3D

- Awarded Best in AI for Digipen Game Awards, Singapore 2015

Circuitor is a 3D base defence strategy game utilising the basic concept of electrical circuits as its core mechanic. Using this simple concept, players develop their own unique strategies in building their own base, power up their defensive turrents and keep their base alive as they face an onslaught of various enemy types. A hard core strategy game not for the faint hearted.

As a producer for this game project, my role was to help facilitate and prioritize production for the team so that memebers meet milestones on time and on target.

Other roles include UI/UX designer, where I was tasked to code all interface functionalities and feedback, as well as coming up with the concept design for the interface of the game. After which this was given to the artist to further enhance it. User interface functionality and feedback coded with the help of NGUI.

Additionally, I took on the role of an audio designer, where with the help of Garageband and the loops provided, creating an original soundtrack for the game. I also implemented all audio in the game.

Whoops!

A semester long game project for a scripting class during my freshman year. Made using Actionscript 3.0 and using Box2D physics.

My role in the project was developing a simple tile based level editor to help facilitate the design and construction of the game's levels. This as well as assisting members in some minor scripting of the game and level testing. I also helped in the game's incorporating appropriate sound effects and music  for the game.

Whoops! is a 2D platformer Capture-The-Flag (CTF) game, where players attempt to capture their
coloured batteries and return to their base to earn points. The player with the highest points
wins the game. Players can sabotage their opponents through the use of various powerups
that will affect the environment, disrupt and confuse your opponents!

A semester long game project for a game project class. Made entirely using Actionscript 3.0.

My role in the project was scripting out the functionalities and mechanics of the game from scratch and ensuring the game ran smoothly as the Technical lead for the project. I learnt a lot during this project as it was the first time utilising Actionscript 3.0 to script out a full game.

Super Robo Thief  is a top down 2D maze runner game set in the not so near future where humans have stolen relic eggs during an expedition to earth. As Robo, you are tasked to recapture these eggs and bring them safely back home.

A semester long game design project that centered upon utilising an innovative game idea from scratch, to paper prototype, to digital prototype. A 2-player game, the prototype game utilises the combat triangle mechanic as its core. The game hopes create a casual feeling with relation to real time strategy games. It also re-enacts the paper prototype the team managed to create during the process of the project. Made entirly from scratch using Unity 3D.

*Brief details of how the game operates may be found in the provided document though changes may have been updated in the final version of the  prototypegame.

My role was to work closely with the artist as well as the game designer to code out certian user interface functionalities and ensuring that these functionalities reflect adequate information to the user. Functionalities coded with the help of NGUI User Interface kit for Unity 3D.
