CONCEPT

EarthLands is a personal conceptual card game based loosely off the card game Magic the Gathering. Races created are purely out of my own imagination and are not representative of anything in particular. This idea was conceived a number of years back during the late teens but only managed to fully formalize the concept just during the university days, after which converting them into digital format which is a work in progress.

Work on this game has mainly come to a halt due to its similarities in game mechanics to Magic the Gathering. This conceptual work mainly showcases the art I utilize to create these cards and the language / key words used in explaining the card instructions.
Additionally the narrative for this game will be utilized in other aspects as I seek to expound on these imaginary races in greater detail.

The art style of the creatures were formulated using the chemistry set stencil as the basic body structure. If you do not know what I mean, please google it for yourself. And once you know, you will understand how structured the art style was intended. With a little added imagination, I would add the limbs to these bodies using basic shapes and for some added variety to these creatures.

The narrative style used for this is mainly factual/ account based.

The Races
The Clan of The Outlandish Brutes

The Brutes are savages, known to be very hostile to outsiders. Their methods of warfare, primitive. Indigenous inhabitants of the EarthLands, they were banished from their lands by the invading Beans. As the years progressed, their numbers started to dwindle until only one sole surviving clan remained. There are however, Brutes that still wonder aimlessly in the forests of the EarthLands, the Lost Brutes so they are known. Without a clan to belong to, Brutes will ultimately perish under the harsh environment of the EarthLands

The Clan of the Outlandish Brutes still hold out against the Beans till today. They hold a huge chunk of Bean Country. The ever flowing river waters of the River Bean provide an endless supply of potable water to the Brute village. The waters too providing an avenue for them to cultivate bountiful crops for survival in the harsh conditions.

In more recent times, the elders of the clan have managed to declare a truce with King Bean Bean V, the Brutes have ceased all their attacks on Bean Road. However, the rogue cell of the Dark Beans still carry out skirmishes on the back-dated race. As such, the Brutes are beginning to lose their patience with the Beans.

And so, with the Brutes ever growing in numbers, much of their ancestral lands have been re-taken. However, they still seek out the their Mother Land, currently occupied by Rhunians.

Brute Soldiers are the main fighting force of the Clan. They provide basic support, but are very disorganized when left alone. They rely on strength in numbers.

Brute Archers provide secondary assistance to the Brute Soldiers, they ensure that a clear path is given to them before an assault is carried out

First in, first out, the Brute Scouts survey the lands before the main forces to collect information about the enemy before heading back to relay this information

Once lost, the Brute Outcasts thrive in the knowledge of the lands. Their ability to survive in the harshest of environments is unquestionable.

The Raging Brutes gather their strength from within and force out a loud scream to bring fear into the hearts of their enemies

Big Brutes are rare in nature, their abnormally large size makes them an easy target.
Brotherhood of the Atzantians

The Atzantians are a peoples from a faraway land. They came to the EarthLands via the EarthLantic Sea in search of greater prosperity for their own kind. They thrive on hardwork and labour. Atzantians are peaceful people, but are fiercely protective especially when it comes to their own kind. They will stop at nothing to hunt down and kill any adversary that would lay a finger on them. The Atzantians have been living peacefully in the EarthLands for while now, but of recent, their thriving lands have come under threaten by the Beans

The Beans have always felt threatened by the thriving prosperity of the Atzantians and seek to rid them from the EarthLands. Of recent, the Beans have carried small scale sabotage operations on Atzantian outposts surrounding the Atzantian capital of Atzantia. Thankfully, these operations have not claimed the lives of any Atzantians to warrant a full scale Atzantian-Beanic war. But trouble is brewing in the horizon.

Lately, reports of young Atzantians going missing have surfaced. No bodies have been recovered, but the Atzantian leaders highly suspect that the Beans are to be blamed for this. Without any concrete evidence of who the perpetrators are, the Atzantians are unable to come to a complete decision on what to do about these missing Atzantians. Fear now threatens the Atzantian community. And it is this fear that may tip even more the already fragile nature of the EarthLands.

The life blood of the Brotherhood. Atzantian Labourers ensure that the Brotherhood can be sustained throughout the years to come

Wherever you go, the Atzantian Water Carriers will follow. They help sustain the Brotherhood and ensure that it continues to thrive continuously

Never underestimate the might of the Atzantian Knight. Their strength lies in their persistence to eliminate those who oppress them

The Atzantian Warlord knows no bounds. They seek only to avenge the fallen and will spare no effort in hunting them down

They say strength lies in numbers. But for the Soldiers of Atzantia, strength lies in persistence.

Standing small, the Atzantian Guard may look like a weakling in all sorts. But truth be told, they do not falter in the heat of battle
